Dr Banu Prakash did his surgical training at PGI, Chandigarh. There, his exposure to a vast array of neurosurgical cases and techniques honed his skills to the highest level. He has a special interest in the areas of Skull base endoscopic surgery, 3-D endoscopy, minimally invasive cranial and spinal Neuro surgery, endovascular techniques, DBS for comprehensive care. His approach is preventive, Holistic, Ecologically effective, Humanitarian. In pursuit of this he has done observerships at the Barrow Neurosurgical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona (in skull base, vascular, functional DBS, VNS and Spine-X LIF) and at City of Hope, Los Angeles where cutting-edge research is being done in the fields of robotic surgery and nano medicine for the treatment of brain tumours. Dr Prakash takes an active interest in academia and has taught and mentored students at various institutes such as Narayana Hrudayalaya and BMC Clinical-Surgical Skills Centre in Bangalore and PGI Chandigarh. His belief in philanthropy has seen him give his time as a visiting consultant to serve the poor at ESI Hospital (Bangalore). Dr Banu Prakash has published research papers in both national and international publications and is a member of the Neurological Society of India, North American Skull Base Society, Bangalore Neurological Society, Indian Society of Neuro Oncology and Karnataka Spine Forum.
